Baloney. Gun control does not have grassroots, only astroturf.
This is Cuomo’s attempt to intimidate Congressional Republicans. It’s not an inherently bad idea on his part considering the backbones of local Republicans have the structural integrity of warm jello when confronted by loudmouth leftists. If these guys are smart (and for most that’s doubtful) the targeted Republicans will turn this attack on them around and use it to fundraiser off of.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to disseminate the following notification to all Greene County Pistol Permit holders:
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, NO AMENDMENTS TO YOUR PISTOL PERMIT WILL BE PROCESSED WITHOUT PROOF OF PERMIT RECERTIFICATION. THIS POLICY HAS BEEN INSTITUTED BY THE GREENE COUNTY COURT.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports:
“Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro hasn’t even publicly launched his campaign for governor. Behind the scenes, though, Molinaro’s maneuvering already has him within striking distance of locking up the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the fall. The Dutchess Republican has secured about 41 percent of the weighted vote of New York’s Republican delegates in the last week, assuming they vote for who their county chairs endorsed …”
Good. Senator John DeFrancisco’s campaign has been as bad as Brian Kolb’s.
If the Republicans are to have any chance of knocking out Cuomo their candidate needs to be a contrast to the current administration. Molinaro has done a decent enough job as County Executive so he can run on that. There are no major scandals in his administration to distract from real issues and he’s not eligible for AARP which is a big plus.

New York Republicans never learn that there is nothing to be gained by caving in to Democrats and fringe-Left special interests.
“Republican Sen. Elaine Phillips on Tuesday in a statement endorsed taking action on specific gun control measures, including a ban on possessing bump stocks in New York and classifying mass shootings as an act of terrorism. Phillips, a Long Island lawmaker, also backed a measure that would tighter restrictions on gun ownership for those who are convicted of domestic abuse, which gun control supporters consider to be a loophole in federal law …”
“Republican Sen. John Bonacic in an interview Tuesday said he would be open to considering specific gun control legislation such as bans on bump stocks and extending the waiting period to purchase a gun so a more extensive background check is conducted. “These requests in my mind are reasonable,” Bonacic said. “Those are a couple of things that I’m going to be advocating in my conference.” …”
