Several Nassau Co. bills introduced

Several local bills have been introduced to the county legislature in response to the SCOTUS decision:

  • Clerk Item 151-22 – Requires NCPD to cross-check the names of individuals who are involuntarily transported to facilities for emergency psychiatric care against the pistol license registry.
  • Clerk Item 192-22 – Mandatory firearms storage.
  • Clerk Item 193-22 – Legal assistance for filing ERPO.
  • Clerk Item 194-22 – Requires gun dealers post signs warning of the dangers of firearms.

Pistol licensing holdup

There is a rumor circulating that starting in September, no new pistol license applications will be processed until a training regime is put into place.

I can see this happening, but I have not seen the original e-mail where this supposedly started from.

True statement

“… “I think that New York state is intentionally doing everything you can to violate the constitution with impunity,” said Amy Bellantoni, a New York lawyer focused on Second Amendment issues. “It ultimately will land at the feet of the judges of the state to uphold their oath to protect the constitution of the U.S. and the ultimate decision of what that constitution means comes from the Supreme Court.” …”
