Adams’ ghoulish response to critics

Things aren’t going well for Eric Adams so he’s trying whining to Congress about gun control:

“New York City Mayor Eric Adams in an interview on Sunday pointed to the recent fatal shooting of a 12-year-old Brooklyn boy to repeat his call for Congress to pass stricter gun control laws. Adams, appearing in a pretaped segment on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” said critics who argue New York’s strict gun control laws show that restrictions have been ineffective in stopping a rise in gun violence, should “go visit” Kade Lewin, the 12-year-old who was shot and killed in a parked car Thursday while eating dinner with his family …”

The City and State implemented all the gun control the antis wanted and it is clear they don’t prevent “gun violence.”  Rather than admit the obvious failure of those policies, Adams wants his critics to visit the grave of an innocent victim of those policy failures because … what?  That doing so will somehow convince the critics that were wrong to point out the failure of his dumb ideas in the first place?

If Adams is this bad now after a few months in office how bad is he going to be after four years?

Antigun lobbying update

Every so often I check up Everytown to see what exactly they are lobbying for in Albany. It’s a little messed up this time as they include a bunch of clean energy bills which makes no sense. I assume their lobbying firm made a mistake with the reporting.

Here’s their current list of proposed gun-related bills:

  • A-449A, Establishes a ten business day waiting period from contact of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) before a firearm, shotgun or rifle may be delivered to a person.
  • A-837, Requires the creation and imposition of restrictive commercial practices and stringent recordkeeping and reporting to prevent gun and ammunition sales to individuals with a criminal record.
  • A-4331/S-1991, Provides a civil action for deprivation of rights which is caused by any person or public entity.

  • A-7926/S-4116, Requires semiautomatic pistols manufactured or delivered to any licensed dealer in this state to be capable of microstamping ammunition.
  • A-8131/S-7456, Requires the Division of Criminal Justice Services to establish and maintain a database of information relating to the sale or use of microstamped guns in the state.

Recognizing June as Gun Violence Awareness Month

Res 93-2022, Recognizing June as Gun Violence Awareness Month in New York City, has been introduced to the City Council on behalf of Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

The purpose of this?

Recognition of the month of June as Gun Violence Awareness Month by local and state officials will increase efforts to protect all New Yorkers, especially those who are disproportionately affected by such violence, by furthering the dialogue with our local, state and federal partners to help examine the causes of gun violence and create meaningful solutions in an effort to prevent the violence from peaking again in the summer.

Just more of the same nonsense Williams has built his reputation on.
