Several Nassau Co. bills introduced

Several local bills have been introduced to the county legislature in response to the SCOTUS decision:

  • Clerk Item 151-22 – Requires NCPD to cross-check the names of individuals who are involuntarily transported to facilities for emergency psychiatric care against the pistol license registry.
  • Clerk Item 192-22 – Mandatory firearms storage.
  • Clerk Item 193-22 – Legal assistance for filing ERPO.
  • Clerk Item 194-22 – Requires gun dealers post signs warning of the dangers of firearms.

Pistol licensing holdup

There is a rumor circulating that starting in September, no new pistol license applications will be processed until a training regime is put into place.

I can see this happening, but I have not seen the original e-mail where this supposedly started from.

The lawyer who filed the suit does not have a good record on the issue.
