Think like the Dems

Senate hearings on the Brett Kavanaugh nomination to SCOTUS have begun.

It’s been every bit the shitshow I thought it would be.

One of the Democrats, possibly DiFi, brought in one of the Parkland parents and, in an attempt to embarrass Kavanaugh, offered to shake his hand in front of the cameras.  The published picture shows Kavanaugh just looking at the outstretched hand and the antigunners, including asshat Chris Cuomo, are claiming he turned away without acknowledging him.  However, video clearly shows that security intervened and moved him away.  Neither the antis nor their political and media allies are interested in the truth so the fact that they would try and pull this sort of stunt is not a surprise.

Republicans should have expected it and planned their own handshake.  Defensive gun use far exceeds that of criminal misuse.  Why weren’t there a dozen defensive gun users in the audience?  Republicans and the NRA need to start thinking like the Democrats to better control the narrative.

James attacks Teachout on SAFE Act

Letitia James released a video highlighting inconsistencies in the rhetoric of her rival Democrat Attorney General nominee Zephyr Teachout when discussing the SAFE Act:

The last poll I saw showed James leading the pack with nearly half undecided, but Teachout has received the endorsements of both the New York Times and Daily News so it’s reasonable to assume James is worried about her tenuous lead.

Gounardes’ gun control platform

Andrew Gounardes is making another run for State Senate against incumbent Marty Golden.

He ran back in ’12 on a gun control platform and was supported by New Yorkers Against Gun Violence. He’s back for another round with this ad:

I don’t think it is very effective. The music is annoying and he’s all over the issue instead of focusing on one thing. Plus he did this before and it got him nothing.

Help Tony with petitions

I am a big fan of Gun For Hire’s podcast.

Host Anthony Colandro needs help to petition his way on to the 2019 NRA Directors ballot.

Members for 5+ consecutive years and all Life members are eligible to sign the petition.  Print off a copy of the petition and get it back to him ASAP.  I signed it and so should you.

Pizza & Ice Cream

I attended a private “Pizza & Ice Cream Party” yesterday in Kinderhook with several incumbents and candidates for state and local offices.

I cannot stress how important it is for gun owners to go to events like this. They go on all over the state and with increasing frequency as the November elections approach. Check your county and local political party websites and those of the candidates themselves for a calendar of events.
