Observer-Dispatch letter to the editor
As a follow up to my previous posting, the Observer-Dispatch ran my letter in today’s edition:
In your Aug. 15 article, “U.S. Rep. Anthony Brindisi on impeachment, gun control, re-election plans,” the Congressman is quoted as saying, “I don’t think anyone wants to restrict a law-abiding gun owner’s right to have access to a firearm.”
If he really believes this then I would like him to prove it by adding his name as co-sponsor to H.R.38 the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2019.
After going through all the criminal records checks the state requires to obtain a pistol license proving license holders are “law-abiding gun owners” there is no legitimate reason their ability to carry firearms should be restricted based entirely upon artificial political boundaries.
I’m not expecting Brindisi to do this.
