  • A-710/S-182, Relates to providing a civil action for deprivation of rights.
  • A-2105/S-214, Expands eligibility for victims and survivors of crime to access victim compensation funds.
  • A-2893/S-580, Relates to the provision of and payment for violence prevention programs.
  • A-3005/S-4005, Enacts into law major components of legislation necessary to implement the state public protection and general government budget for the 2023-2024 state fiscal year.
  • A-5199/S-270, Relates to an excise tax on the sale of ammunition.

 

S-1701 on Codes agenda

S-1701, Requires persons possessing any firearm to hold a firearms safety certificate, is on the Senate Codes agenda for Monday, March 13 @ 10:30am.

Ulster Sportsmens livestream tonight with Erich Pratt

The Federated Sportsmen’s Clubs of Ulster County will be hosting a livestream meeting with GOA Exec. V.P. Erich Pratt and attorney for Antonyuk case Stephen Stamboulieh. The range of discussion will be centered around the CCIA lawsuit.

Livestream will start @ 7:00pm tonight.

Republican legislators’ amicus brief denied

Albany Republican legislators’ amicus brief in support of the plaintiffs in Antonyuk v. Nigrelli was denied because the plaintiffs do not want their help.

Mayor Walsh pushes Congress for more gun control

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is pushing Congress for more gun control:

“… Walsh has specific asks—he said that Congress needs to establish universal background checks regardless of whether someone is purchasing a gun from a store, online or at a gun show. He wants to see harsher penalties for those caught trafficking guns across state lines. Walsh also called for gun manufacturers themselves to be held accountable and face legal repercussions …”

He’s not getting any of this and he knows it. He’s just trying to divert attention away from all the existing gun control laws which he supported and which have obviously failed.
