NYAGV endorses Alvin Bragg

The Amsterdam News reports:

… “District Attorney Bragg understands that safety and justice require investment in our youth and communities to prevent violence and crime before it happens and break the cycle of trauma,” said Rebecca Fischer, executive director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, who recently endorsed Bragg’s re-election campaign. “Empowering our young people through leadership and engagement in their own communities is an evidenced-based approach to reducing gun violence.” …

This endorsement is meaningless as Bragg has no serious challengers and therefore NYAGV has nothing to do to back up their endorsement.

Nobody saw this coming. Nobody.

I have stated many times that programs like SNUG are just a money-funnel to politico’s loser friends back home.

Here’s the latest example:

Onondaga County District Attorney William J. Fitzpatrick announced the arrest of Cassieum Pitts and Ahmed Abdi … The men were each indicted on multiple counts of Official Misconduct and narcotics related offenses. These men where employed at SNUG, a state funded anti-violence program … Another SNUG employee, Cornell Sawyer, was also indicted recently for the possession of an illegal “ghost gun” that was found during a traffic stop by the Solvay Police Department.”

Trump’s EO on 2A

President Trump issued an Executive Order, “Protecting Second Amendment Rights“:

“… the Attorney General shall examine all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies (agencies) to assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens, and present a proposed plan of action to the President, through the Domestic Policy Advisor, to protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans …”

This is nice, but it needs to be backed-up with action in Congress, like publicly calling for passage of the federal reciprocity bill, H.R.38/S.65.

Babylon prohibits gun sales

The Village of Babylon passed a local ordinance at their last Board of Trustees meeting prohibiting the sale of firearms and ammunition within the Village.

The return of Cuomo

Andrew Cuomo is considering trying (another) political comeback, this time running for Mayor of NYC.

Assuming he does run, there is an opportunity for retribution for his phony SAFE Act, as other Democrats are also eyeing that position.

Cuomo has made a lot of enemies. I have been seeing webads targeting him, reminding everyone about his COVID response. A vote-for-anyone-but-Cuomo campaign may be doable.

Hogg elected DNC Vice-Chair

Antigun activist David Hogg has been named Vice-Chair of the DNC.

The 24-year old Hogg has no experience running an organization or business, is supremely unlikable and is a meme-making machine.

This will be epic.
