Engel endorsed by anti-gun group

Another incumbent with problems back home gets Brady’s endorsement:

U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel picked up an endorsement last month from Brady: United Against Gun Violence, in his bid to keep his seat in Washington. “Eliot Engel has championed gun violence prevention throughout his time in Congress, working to make New York and all of our communities safer,” said Kris Brown, president of the gun violence prevention organization, in a release. “Rep. Engel has shown that he understands the need to prevent gun violence in all of its forms. He is an essential partner in this work who is not afraid to act.” Engel authored the Safe Gun Storage Act that provided more regulations for how firearms are stored, and was a co-sponsor of a bipartisan background checks bill, dedicating his vote to two people in Westchester County who were killed by gun violence …”

Engel faces four challengers in next month’s CD-16 Democrat primary. Those include Jamaal Bowman:

Andom Ghebreghiorgis who proudly proclaims to be a 2020 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate on his campaign website.

Chris Fink, who has a lengthy screed of antigun talking points including raising the purchase age to 21 as part of his “Guns Off Our Streets” plan.

Sammy Ravelo who claims to want to “Protect the rights of gun owners to own rifles, shotguns, and handguns for hunting, sport, and home protection” while at the same time regurgitating the current gun control agenda.

With this in mind the only viable voting option is:

  1. Vote again Engel to poison Brady’s endorsement.
  2. Vote against Ghebreghiorgis to poison Moms endorsement.
  3. Make a bad decision on the rest.
