1199 SEIU made a $10,000 donation to the New Yorkers Against Gun Violence Political Action Committee last October.
I cannot prove it, but I would guess it was done at the request of the Governor as he tried to enlist their help last year to offset the 12,000+ pro-gunners who showed up at the Capitol last year to protest SAFE.

It was to pay for their hot meals, daily wage, and transportation back and forth to the protests. 🙂
Goes to show who really has the money in this fight.
If I was a forced member of the SEIU, I would sue the shit out of them. You know that money didn’t come from a special fund and courts have said unions can’t use dues for political crap.

I am an 1199 seiu member and I am going to stop my PAC contributions because I don’t agree with the powers of 1199 using my contributions for this without a vote of the members.
My friends at work, I am not a member of the union, if I was this would enrage me beyond words!!!
And some hospital or other corp. that employes 1199 members will get a 100K grant in return.
