SAFE lawsuit update

Yesterday’s court meeting regarding our lawsuit against the SAFE Act has postponed.  No new date has been set yet.

In the meantime, an NRA backed lawsuit regarding issuing pistol licenses to non-residents is getting some press.

  1. I hope Jacob there will be a happy ending to this story eventually! Many after hearing this are beginning to have doubts, you can see it all over at NY Firearms forum. It’s discouraging to read the Debbie Downers but hopefully the membership that I am proud to be in will prevail. I just can’t imagine the state postponing until end of time here, there has to be a breaking point. I am speculating in my ‘OWN” opinion this stalling tactic by the state is their death throw to the SAFE ACT’s extinction level event so to speak…I could be wrong. As I said before, I wish the NYSPRA leadership all the best in getting this a final resolve, I think that the stalling is a good thing, it shows the state’s incompetence in defending this ignorant law. Thank You Jacob for the update, some news is good news…good or bad!

  2. I just read today about the demise of the Chicago gun registry. Hopefully someday we will see the same in NY. The good people of Illinois and Chicago didn’t think they would see such, but it happened. Keep the faith baby !

  3. Who is doing the postponing? Is it us or them? Even that is not clear (to me). All I saw at NYSRPA was that it was delayed again, and no future date is set at this time. Can we have a lttle more info? Thats like me going to a client or gathering up my employees and telling them “the project is delayed”, then turn around, walk back into my office and shut the door. Yeah, people are going to start having doubts and getting scared. Please dont get me wrong, I am a fanatical supporter. But cmon guys, you can do better. A little more info / pep talk / something?

  4. If it is our side that is postponing, PLEASE LET THEM. Please let Mr. Halbrook take all the time he needs. Rushing him will do no good. If its the scumbags, – different story. I imagine that the judge will have a limit and everybody will eventually have to shit or get off the pot.
