  1. Any thoughts on Marchione’s online petition?

Seems to me that along with legal action we need to get gun owner to stand up against this and throw money at it if are to stand a chance. We need a big media campaign. From my vantage point it seems we have a massive perception problem with the general public in this area. Even people who know guns hear the phrase “assault weapon” and start to freak out. The antis are using that to their advantage.

The only way to change that is by gaining control of the conversation and repositioning assault weapons. Frankly, we should remove those words from our vocablulary and replace them with “Self-Defense Rifle, etc”. While it means the same thing it sounds very different.

  2. In the mean time, what things can we do to help get it overturned/repealed/whatever? Obviously NYSRPA and the NRA are getting some of my money in the near future, but what else?

  3. I would say hammer your legislators if they voted for it. They raped your Constitutional rights as an American! You have every right to be hopping mad about that! Get in their faces about it! It’s not over until WE say it’s over, and I will never say that this is over until it’s gone.
That freedom raper, Cuomo, and everyone associated with him, should hear about this for the rest of his miserable life.
Cuomo turned his back on the schoolchildren of this state when he could have gotten armed protection for them. Instead he went after his daddy’s old canard of gun control and took advantage of the opportunity to settle an old score with the gun owners of this state, myself included, who voted his daddy out of office. Schoolchildren are still at grave risk, and they will be at grave risk as long as the Democratic Party maintains its insane/pretend policy of “gun-free school zones” so that children can be massacred to advance the Democrats gun ban agenda. In the wake of Sandy Hook, it’s obvious to anyone except die-hard Democrats that we must have armed security in schools – it’s not optional anymore, unless the ruling political party needs dead kids to advance its gun ban agenda.

  4. I agree with the hammer the legislators idea, but would add to that — we need to become much better organized and able to respond faster. If you look at the speed in which the opposition put up ads, legislation and various other attacks it is clear they were organized and waiting for the right time to pounce. Look around the country, it’s crazy how fast they are moving and on how many different fronts. They’re controling the conversation with the general public. We’ve got to turn that around.
