Replace Pataki with Giuliani

There’s a good article (with an excellent headline) over at WNYC on why George Pataki will not be running for president, ““I really don’t know what he’s smoking”: Pataki presidential run rumors don’t add up.”  Some quotes:

“… to think, with his values, he would stand a chance in a Republican—in a right-wing Republican—primary, that is really ludicrous …”

“… Having to come to term with the labor unions, his spending record, his record on social issues, suggest it would be very hard to get nominated …”

“… I don’t remember anyone saying, ‘Pataki, remember the good old days?’” …”

Contrast that with this nonsense from Fred Dicker, “GOP big pushes Giuliani for vice prez“.  Now go back to the first article and re-read it substituting “Rudy Giuliani” for “George Pataki” and see what you get.  Same article, right?

  1. Don’t know what he’s smoking? That’s a charitable explanation. The man needn’t smoke anything, since he’s a dope to begin with, in and of himself. Therein lies the explanation.
They say that Pataki only spoke to five people when he was governor. Apparently, these days, he’s down to talking to himself, which would explain the bad advice he’s gotten from a fool about running for president.
After raping the right to keep and bear arms of the residents of the State of New York as a Republican, he has no ability to run for national office as a Republican. As for running as a Democrat, they have more than enough wannabes of their own, and no use for a RINO chucklehead, retread wannabe.
He might aspire to a vice-presidential nomination, if he was willing to sink the ticket, and as ignorant as he is, he would be certainly be willing. Gun owners would howl their heads off if this misbegotten, Second Amendment rapist somehow weaseled his way onto the Republican national ticket. My own protest sign would say, “George Pataki – RINO” on one side, and, “George Pataki – COCKSUCKER REPUBLICAN” on the other. The former side would be a family-friendly statement for media consumption, while the latter side would be an expression of my personal judgment of the value of the contribution of his political career.
New York’s gun owners gave Pataki the edge of victory over the invincible Mario Cuomo. I gladly voted for him myself. In return, he betrayed us with his “religious conversion“ to gun control, and saddled us with an onerous AWB that is, unfortunately, still on the books. We owe him. Big time. Go for it, George.
