Good move

You can tell that the NRA blowing off Obama was a smart move by the whining the leftist media is doing because of it.  See:

If Obama, the antis and their media allies were in a position of power they would not be acting this way.  They know the only way for them to win right now is for the NRA to cave.

  1. Interesting to see the lamestream media in a tizzy…..since Wayne stated that he supports background checks, which is, from my understanding, was the original point of these meetings.

  2. The steps we need to take on gun control are steps to reverse it. Wrong-headed Obama wants to go in the wrong direction.
The NRA should have been much less polite and much more forceful in their rejection of President Weasel’s effort to co-opt them.
When you’re bigger and stronger than the schoolyard bully, it makes no sense at all to have a discussion with him about how much of your lunch money you’re going to fork over to him.
When Obama, or more likely his successor, is willing to sit down and talk about restoring those aspects of the right to keep and bear arms that have been destroyed by law, then will be the time to talk. In the meantime, the NRA should engage in vigorous fundraising, with a view towards getting better representation in Congress and the White House. We need leaders who respect our rights, not political weasels whose outdated liberalism into communism philosophy makes them want to wring out yet one more concession from gun owners. Obama will not be presiding over any gun control “accomplishments”. President Weasel, having revealed himself on the gun issue, is finished.
Frankly, I’m surprised that his desire to be re-elected allowed him to hold out this long against the gun control pushers who thrive in the stench of the anti-American, anti-democratic, Democrat Party. The reek that pours off of those limp-wristed, freedom-hating, government-loving, commie wannabe, America-haters makes me nauseated, but it also makes me angry. I look forward to working to seeing them badly defeated at the polls. Very much so.
America took a bad wrong turn in 2008 with the election of Barack Hussein Obama, but I expect that to be corrected on Election Day 2012. The restoration of freedom can never come soon enough.

  3. I don’t think it’s necessary to be impolite to Obama’s request for a sit down. The wave of the hand dismissal the NRA gave him made him seem all the more impotent without being rude.
