Proposed Philipstown gun ordinance

The Town of Philipstown in Putnam County is contemplating a gun control ordinance to prohibit legally owned firearms on town property.  Here is a story where this is supposedly coming from and here is a draft copy of the proposal.

Creating a “gun-free zone” will only disarm the law abiding. Everybody else can bring all the guns they want, and do with them as they please, with the knowledge that they will have no opposition to whatever they have planned.
It is irksome that any local yokel who gets a bug up his butt can infringe the Second Amendment of the United States Bill of Rights. These particular local yokels, in Philipstown, should be looking at fines and prison time for their unconstitutional and dangerously idiotic antics that amount to a conspiracy against the civil rights of their citizens. New Yorkers have rights as Americans, which are not to be infringed at any level of government, let alone by a dangerously foolish town mayor in league with the local media.
