Bloomie’s bodyguard behaving badly

What will Mayor Mike say in response to this?

“NYPD officer Leopold McLean, who had long worked on security detail for Mayor Bloomberg, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting his girlfriend’s ex-lover and then trying to cover it up … Other charges against McLean include assault, criminal use of a firearm and reckless endangerment …”

  1. As a former police officer and SWAT team leader I was surprised to learn how under-trained I was when I entered the bodyguard, or as it is now called, the “executive protection” field. What police officers do and what executive protection professionals do are two very different things.

What people who hire executive protection agents need to realize if police officers who are not trained in EP work should not be hired. Maybe it was just the city trying to save money by assigning cops to do EP work.

The same problem exists in the entertainment industry when celebs hire huge guys because they are just that – huge guys. Then the celebs are surprised when the ex-felon they hired to protect them either sues them, gets them sued because they beat someone up, or they blackmail the celeb by threatening to expose some secret the celeb didn’t want made public.
