Some rumormongering from The Citizen:

From a purely 2A standpoint this is good as Kolb is a NRA Life member and both have positive voting records on the issue.
Possible downside is lack of name recognition, especially downstate where most of the population is, and ability to raise enough money. They don’t need to match Cuomo’s expected $30+ million, but will need $8-10 million to at least make it interesting.
Gubernatorial bids? Why does a state this great have an idiot like Cuomo at the helm? Are we that stupid? This state is replete with competent people from end to end, and yet we that disgusting product of nepotism in the governor’s office. Can we not do better?
The only Republican with access to million$ is Harry Wilson and he isn’t a household name despite his ’10 bid for Comptroller. Pataki didn’t want any GOP challengers so the party didn’t work on creating the next generation of leaders. Gov. Cuomo is the result.
