Protect us against our own stupidity

Last August I was invited to speak at a history class at NYU.  I didn’t want to go and suggested some alternatives to the professor.  Scott Bach took him up on the offer and debated New Yorkers Against Gun Violence mouthpiece Leah Gunn-Barrett last month.  She made her position very clear:

“… ““You can be perfectly law-abiding one moment,” said Ms. Gunn-Barrett during the debate, “and then the next moment you can be a criminal and do something criminal and wrong, like shoot up a movie theater, or kill your spouse during an argument.” Regulation of people and behavior is needed, she said, “to protect us against our own stupidity and our own irrationality.” …”

  1. Jacob, this may be one of the most significant things ever reported here. This goes exactly to who and what those people are, believe, and want to do. This is it in a nutshell! The naked despot. The guy you sent over there must be some great debater cause he had to have gotten her shorts into an insermountable bunch to get her to say that. WHAT ARROGANCE! I dont even know what to say to that even with my big mouth. Stunning. Send that in to Hannity or Levin if you have access.
