Poll shows declining support for Cuomo’s gun policy

A new poll from Quinnipiac shows 42% approve and 41% disapprove of Gov. Cuomo’s handling of gun issues, down from 52-38% last year.

BTW, how has SAFE been working in the City?

It’s the Year of the Gun in Brownsville, where more people have been shot in 2014 than in all of Manhattan.  Brownsville’s police precinct, the 73rd, also has logged more shooting victims than any other precinct in the city.  And once again, police sources told the Daily News, the bloodshed is rooted in turf battles that are typical of rival street crews …

Two men were left injured after a gunman opened fire on a residential street in Coney Island on Saturday, and now elected officials are calling for increasing police resources to the peninsula … It’s not clear what led to the shooting, but Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Councilman Mark Treyger and Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny joined the Coney Island Anti-Violence Collaborative yesterday for a rally to request more cops in the area, with a renewed focus on patrolling the residential portion of the neighborhood rather than the amusement area …

  1. Well its a GOOD thing those Moms marched across the bridge. That will teach those lawless gunmen in Brownsville to get rid of guns. They should have used more # tags. (sarcasm implied)

  2. Gun owners need to keep getting the work out that guns are not the problem, criminals are. Taking guns away from law abiding citizens does not reduce crime, it increases the chance of it.

  3. Manhattan enjoys the illusion of security by having thousands of cops on the small island. When it comes to the boroughs and undesirable places like Brownsville, where I grew up part of my childhood, police WILL NOT RESPOND because for the fear of their own lives. I don’t blame them.

That’s why there is a need for people to have arms for self defense.

  4. How many of those shooting were with legal guns …….. The good people are unarmed or limited in how they protect themselves and the animals have huge illegal firepower. So is that Gun Control working for you in Brownville?

  5. Unfortunately its too late Remington lost two products lines to Alabama and it’s not looking good you do not blame objects that humans use for evil vote these lying dirty politicians out

  6. Ive said before and ill say it again, this un-safe act was political suicide for cuomo. he went from a one of the highest rated governors in the country with white house possibilities to a one term governor with no future in politics. And rightfully so.

  7. Once the uneducated are educated and enlightened to the real issues, that number will be well in favor of gun ownership and against gun control. Our job is to educate.

  8. Most people had almost forgot this clown was the head of HUD (Housing and Urban Developement) under Clinton. He single handedly almost caused Smith and Wesson to go out of business by roping them into signing an agreement to limit civilian access to politically incorrect weapons. The backlash against S&W was quick and severe, taking them almost a decade to recover from it. This guy has the Midas Touch, only everything he touches turns to crap… He would be nothing without his daddy’s name.
