Once again the Journal News has published the list of pistol license holders for the lower Hudson Valley. I’m not going to link to it.
Predictably, people are pissed. Under state law, this is public information so there isn’t anything that can be done about it. However, an inquisitive blogger has taken the time to research information about Journal News staff and posted it to his website. I’m sure they won’t mind.
It’s one thing for the state to make information public, but it’s an entirely different matter for a private organization to take that information and then get creative with it by publicly raping the privacy of the individuals involved. The state has a list, but it doesn’t have an interactive map on the Internet. A good lawyer could sink his teeth into this one. I don’t think a jury would like the idea of ordinary people having their privacy raped.
The Second Amendment should be all that one requires to bear arms, but left-wing journalistas have no respect for the Bill of Rights, except for the one part of it that they use to make money and push their political agenda.
