Why Schumer keeps getting re-elected

Why does Chuck Schumer keep getting re-elected?  Because he’s all over the place:

“… Sen. Charles Schumer is in Schenectady County today to complete his 11th year in a row of visiting all 62 counties in New York since he took office in 1999 …His office said this year’s tour included 13 trips to Albany; 16 to Erie; 17 to Monroe; 14 to Onondaga; and 22 to Westchester and Rockland counties. He made 11 trips to the North Country, 12 trips to the Southern Tier, 25 trips to the Capital Region, 25 trips to Western New York, 47 trips to the Hudson Valley, 26 trips to Central New York, and 25 trips to the Rochester-Finger Lakes.”

Giving credit where it’s due, Schumer is very, very good at being a politician.  He’s made it seem like he’s personally connected with everybody and everything.  He puts more effort into that than any other politician I know of.  You never know where he’ll show up next, but wherever it is, he’ll claim credit for whatever good thing is happening or show concern for whatever crap is going on and promise to fix it.

  1. I have to agree. I’ve met with him a number of times and he can really work a room. He’s got that way about him. Plus, he is incredibly sharp. Having said all that, he is dead wrong on a lot of issues and not just guns. Schumer is, above all else, a big government kind of guy.

And don’t get me started on the “Schumer Math” so often found in his media releases.

  2. Free non taxable media coverage. You really can’t beat it unless you’re a royal jerkwad from Nassau Co. or a clueless incompetent from Arizona.

  3. It’s not entirely free coverage. Our tax dollars pay for dozens of Schumer staffers whose sole purpose in life is to keep his name out there with positive feelings associated with it.

  4. Schumer will probably run unopposed AGAIN! Darn shame if you are not a “progressive” or a Gun Rights Advocate.
He will get to make the claim that Saddam Husein, Manuel Norreiga, and other despots have made. I was elected unanimously.
BUT!!! What if we as Gun Rights Advocates all wrote in the name of Charlie Heston. It wouldn’t be a wasted vote and it would send a message to Schumer that Yeah you get another six years, and yes 4milllion people voted for you but there were also 1million votes against you so you had better watch you step Senator!
Good politician or not this guys leanings and progressive beliefs are anti-US Constitution.
He would like nothing more than to impose New York Gun restrictions on the whole country.
