Obama didn’t mention guns in his State of the Union speech.
Carolyn McCarthy is not happy:

Obama knows gun control is loser of an issue so why should he put effort into it? The electorate is already upset with him and it would just piss more people off if he starts talking it up.

That is a non-sequitor. Pushing gun control makes no sense at all when striving for common ground. Is Anthony Weiner that much of an ideological idiot?
No, he’s more of a general purpose idiot. I remember his mother saying something to the effect during his unsuccessful mayoral campaign that she hoped he’d find a nice girl to marry.
