WRGB reports, “Homeowner shoots intruder during home invasion in South Glens Falls“:

“A home invasion on Main Street in South Glens Falls ended with a homeowner shooting an intruder. New York State Police and the South Glens Falls Police Department responded to a residence on Main Street on Oct. 6, 2026, at about 4:39 a.m. after receiving a report of a home invasion. Investigators determined that an individual unknown to the homeowner went inside the home and was shot by the homeowner. The homeowner and other people inside the house were not injured. The person who was shot was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound. The investigation remained ongoing, and authorities said a heavy police presence was anticipated in the area. State Police said there is no threat to the public. Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.”
