  1. This bill is being misinterpreted here. The bill as I read it states it’s only to PURCHASE or Take possession of one. The bill doesn’t say anything about those that have them already.

The bill basically means that in order to buy one or have one transferred to you by someone (you need a license) just for that only. If you wish or to transfer one to someone else then they need a license.

It doesn’t say in the language that you need to have a license if you already own one already.

If they are saying you need a license to have one, how does this all work out when people own semi autos already. If someone decides not to buy or sell, then you should need one. The bill is very vague and misleading. Very open to interpretation and law suit.

  2. The description above is cut and paste from the bill itself. You do have to read each bill to see what exactly it does.

  3. I found what I was looking for in the bill. It doesn’t require licensing for those that own them already.

“While semiautomatic handguns require a permit to purchase and possess,
semiautomatic rifles do not. This bill would establish a prospective
permit to purchase semiautomatic rifles without affecting people who
currently own this type of weapon.
