Democrats in trouble

Democrat candidates are in trouble in some of their strongest districts.

In SD-58, which has a better than 2-1 Democrat enrollment advantage, Assemblyman Jack Quinn and Legislator Tim Kennedy are virtually tied.

In the 3-way race for SD-46, which is also 2-1 Democrat, internal polls show Bob Domenici within 7 points of incumbent Neil Breslin.

This is a bad sign for the Democrats and I don’t see it getting any better for them before Nov. 2.   I think they are going to end up losing control of the Senate and losing their super majority in the Assembly.

  1. Because anti incumbent fervor has been running so high, it will be difficult for Dems to discern whether their opposition to 2A has been a major factor.

  2. Obama is the major factor. Taxes in general, the MTA tax specifically, are big down the Hudson Valley and on Long Island.
