Not a lot

The answer to yesterday’s question is, not a lot:

“The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today announced its support for legislation that would protect the constitutional rights of millions of veterans and social security recipients. The Mental Health and Safe Communities Act, sponsored by U.S. Senator John Cornyn, contains provisions that would stop the Obama administration’s efforts to deny millions of veterans and social security recipients their Second Amendment rights without due process …”

Was really hoping for more than this.

  1. This area we live in has been written off by mainstream America years ago. Even the Repulicans consider NY, NJ, CT a lost cause and they have not really bothered with it for years. There is no safe act in real America, and you can still go into a store there and buy a pistol, AR15, anything with just a NICS check. No NY bullshit for a pistol either. The deal I would try for would be universal background checks but NO REGISTRATION. Trade a NICS check on all tranfers for no paper left in store. NRA should be more clear that it is universal REGISTRATION that we are opposed to I think, or maybe thats just me.

  2. As we seen in NYS, NICS has been abused and corrupted via NY Mental Health Dept. I would oppose any further and present background checks until the problems with the present system are fixed.
