Dick Morris said something on Fox News last week that I think could be important to gun control legislation in Congress. He said that the Democrats know they’re going to get spanked by the voters in November one way or another over Obamacare, so they’re going to vote for it anyway and make history. Which they did.
With their fate pretty much sealed, it occurs to me that the Democrats may decide again to go for history and push a broad gun control agenda in Congress. They now have nothing to lose.
Dick Morris’s thesis is wrong. Most of the Democrats think they can get away with it. When you look at who voted vs. the security of their districts, the ones in the most Republican districts voted against. The leaning districts may have a rude awakening though.
I don’t agree. The problem with that link is that is relies on Obama’s popularity in various districts based on the votes he got in ’08. He is nowhere near as popular now as he was back then.
Please, please, Democrats, piss off 100 million gun owners and see what happens.
