Cuomo chooses Hochul as running mate

Governor Cuomo has chosen former Congresswoman Kathy Hochul to be his running mate.

She was endorsed by NRA back in ’12 and is an improvement over outgoing Bob Duffy, but we are well past the point where anything Andy could do would improve his standing with gun owners.  I don’t believe that played any part in her selection.  Andy wanted an upstate candidate to balance the ticket and she was available.

  1. The NRA is a one issue organization. If both the incumbent and challenger get an A rating, they always go for the incumbent, however liberal or progressive the incumbent is. Have always disagreed with that view.

  2. He stands one hell of a chance. Cuomo will be reelected because the Metro NYC/Albany/Long Island and urban voters as well as the huge number of Left leaning voters across the state will carry him through. Unless somehow all of the 2A folks and pro businessman people actually get off their arses and vote, which we never seem to be capable of doing, and the Republican and Conservative side actually rallies behind one viable candidate, another thing we have trouble with, its a done deal. Show up in the election booth and prove me wrong…..please.

  3. Hochul, a Democrat, lost her re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012.
Cuomo selected a new running mate Wednesday after Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy declined.

  4. So if he has a horrible accident she would take over? That could be arranged I suppose. Hopefully he will get caught up in a scandal before November and get tossed out on his ass.

  5. With newer crime statistics now out for 2012, Breitbart News can report that more people are killed each year with fists and hammers than are killed with rifles or shotguns.

According to the FBI, there were a total of 625 murders committed with rifles and shotguns in 2012. That breaks down to 322 murders that were rifle related and 303 that were shotgun related.

The total number of deaths committed with fists, hammers, and other blunt objects was 1,196. That breaks down to 518 murders related to hammers and blunt objects and 678 related to fists.
