RRH Elections has a good rundown of state legislative races.
Some additional commentary:
- SD-7: Adam Haber beats Elaine Phillips. Democrat pick-up.
- SD-9: I don’t buy that it was just the Bernie-boost which helped incumbent Todd Kaminsky win the special election earlier in the year. He beats Chris McGrath in a rematch.
- SD-37: Republicans have this ongoing fantasy that they can take this seat from George Latimer. Not happening.
- SD-39: Incumbent Bill Larkin is older than dirt and not in good health. Plus there has been an ongoing Democrat enrollment shift in the district. I think Chris Eachus has a decent chance of defeating him this time around.
- SD-41: Incumbent Sue Serino is facing ex-State Senator Terry Gipson, whom she beat back in ’14. I see lots of signs and hear radio ads for her, not so much for Gipson. I think she keeps the seat.
- SD-60: Despite a heavy Democrat enrollment advantage, I think Chris Jacobs will win. He should benefit from a Green Party candidate siphoning Democrat votes along with a brewing corruption scandal. Republican pick-up.
- AD-46: No chance of upset. Incumbent Pam Harris wins easy.
- AD-97: No chance of upset. Incumbent Ellen Jaffee wins easy.
- AD-99: Toss-up due to strong effort on the part of Republican challenger Colin Schmitt.
- AD-111: Incumbent Angelo Santabarbara beats Peter Vroman again.
- AD-116: Toss-up.
