IDC rising

More evidence that Republicans will not have a majority in the State Senate next year:

“… Marisol Alcantara … is seen by many in her Uptown district as a liberal firebrand … Alcantara’s candidacy is also backed by the Senate Independent Democratic Conference, or IDC, which she has pledged to join if elected, a scenario that may enable Senate Republicans to keep control of the chamber in a year when mainline Democrats believe they have the best chance to take power and see all major parts of state government run by the party …”

Other than campaign money, the only reason to join the IDC would be if she believes they are going to be in a more advantageous position next year than the mainline caucus.  That happens if the Republicans don’t pick up seats or lose a few they currently hold.

  1. I have come to the point now to not care. Gun rights are finished. Hillary is destined to win either way and the senate democrts willl continue to win in NY. I am not longer going to get stressed out over this, bury everything I guess and maybe in 10yrs things might get better or NOT!

Call me negative but I am being realistic.

  2. I wish like hell I had something positive to say, but with a very heavy heart I gotta say I just don’t see anything. Without trying to say something that would insult the superior intelligence of fellow gunnys, there are still ALOT of us, and it is of great importance that WE STAY TOGETHER SHOUDER TO SHOULDER WITH A STIFF UPPER LIP. I just hope I live long enough to see this fucking piece of shit collapse. And believe it when I tell you IT WILL. You don’t need Phds in math and economics to know that. IT WILL FALL UNDER ITS OWN WEIGHT.

  3. Watching an old Bogart movie from wwII the other night where he said to his friend “The France that we loved is dead”. Rang a bell.

  4. Politics is cyclical. Last summer I thought we would be in good shape. Now we’re not. That too will eventually change when the pendulum swings in the other direction. Just because we won’t win at the top does not mean there are no other good opportunities out there this cycle.
