We’re fucked

Here’s a link to the new Cuomo gun prohibition bill S-2230.

The bill was not made available to Senators for more than a couple of minutes before voting late last night.  New York is keeping our fine Tammany tradition alive.  Big Tim would be proud.

Greg Ball and Kathy Marchione stood up for us.  The ones from Long Island did not.  The Post has some details, “State Senate OKs assault weapon crackdown.

The Assembly is scheduled to vote on the bill today.

  1. This is an abomination, 7 rounds? Registration? Microstamping next?? At least my senator, Pattie ritchie said no to this foolishness….Also why nothing about saturday the 19th?

  2. What date is all this set to go in effect regarding registration and the clock starting on transfer of high capacity mags?

  3. Anybody have a link to who voted for what? I need to know if my state senator voted against it, or for it, so I can either thank her, or tell her that she lost someone who voted for her consistently over the last 15 years or so, and who will now actively help anyone who runs against her to the best of my ability.

  4. All the Dems. plus these Republicans vote for it:

    Boyle, Philip M. R
    Flanagan, John J.
    Fuschillo, Charles J., Jr.
    Golden, Martin J.
    Grisanti, Mark
    Hannon, Kemp
    Lanza, Andrew J
    LaValle, Kenneth P.
    Marcellino, Carl L
    Martins, Jack M.
    Skelos, Dean G.

  5. OK, my senator (Betty Little) didn’t sign it. I guess that’s some small consolation. Thanks.

  6. It has got to take time for the registration process to be set up. There is nothing in place. For someone considering moving their firearms to a house in another state rather than registering them in NY, how long do you estimate they would have before they are in violation?
