{"id":9956,"date":"2014-03-14T13:45:39","date_gmt":"2014-03-14T17:45:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=9956"},"modified":"2014-03-14T13:45:39","modified_gmt":"2014-03-14T17:45:39","slug":"katie-couric-interviews-bloomberg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=9956","title":{"rendered":"Katie Couric interviews Bloomberg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The detestable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.katiecouric.com\" target=\"_blank\">Katie Couric<\/a> (whose mummification process looks to be coming along nicely) interviews the even more detestable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mikebloomberg.com\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Bloomberg<\/a> on his legacy as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/mayor\" target=\"_blank\">Da Mayor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the topic of guns:<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/screen.yahoo.com\/embed\/katiecouric\/bloomberg-gun-control-043445489.html\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowtransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Some highlights:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; Asked if he could outspend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nra.org\" target=\"_blank\">National Rifle Association<\/a> and other opponents of gun control measures, Bloomberg casually replied, \u201cOh sure.\u201d But then added, \u201cI\u2019m not the only funder of this.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>True, he&#8217;s got the cash, but what he doesn&#8217;t have is genuine public support.  That&#8217;s why after spending tens of millions of dollars over the years <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2013\/04\/17\/politics\/senate-guns-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\">Congress blew him off<\/a>.
