Several former mayors (Jerry Jennings<\/a>, David Roefaro<\/a> and Matt Ryan<\/a>) who were members of MAIG<\/a> go on the attack against Poughkeepsie Mayor John\u00a0Tkazyik<\/a> who bailed out<\/a> when it became a liability to his future aspirations:<\/p>\n

“… We were surprised and disappointed to see in a recent OpEd<\/a> Poughkeepsie Mayor John Tkazyik blatantly mischaracterize the important goals of Mayors Against Illegal Guns …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That’s only because Tkazyik still thinks he has a chance to move up the political food chain while you guys’ careers are over.<\/p>\n

“…\u00a0The coalition\u2019s top legislative priority is requiring background checks on all gun sales …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Anyone can use Google<\/a> to prove it is so much more than that.<\/p>\n

“…\u00a0The fact is Mayors Against Illegal Guns believes that the Second Amendment<\/a> goes hand in hand with keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and other dangerous people …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This tells me “their” op-ed was ghost-written by a MAIG staffer.<\/p>\n

“…\u00a0 the vast majority of the American people \u2014 90 percent \u2014 support our coalition\u2019s push to close the loopholes in the background check system …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Nobody is buying that lie which is why their bill crashed and burned<\/a> in Congress last year.<\/p>\n

“…\u00a0Perhaps Mayor Tkazyik had the wool pulled over his eyes by the gun lobby …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Perhaps he’s upset that he didn’t get as much money out of Mike Bloomberg<\/a> as you guys did:<\/p>\n
