Some crap from Brian Resnick at National Journal<\/a>, starting with the title of his op-ed:<\/p>\n

What profit? \u00a0I volunteer my time. \u00a0When is NRA<\/a> going to give me my wheelbarrow full of cash<\/a>?<\/p>\n

“After the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School last year, something was supposed to change … Before Newtown, gun control was always seen as a nonstarter … The shooting prompted President Obama<\/a> to wake a waning liberal daydream\u2014comprehensive gun reform\u2014and make it his administration’s top domestic priority. \u00a0And then not much happened …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sure it did. \u00a0More states loosened their gun laws<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“… As gun control became a real legislative issue, Washington’s gun rights\/reform lobbying machines kicked into high gear …\u00a0Whereas gun-rights organizations went big on lobbying, gun-control groups went big on directly appealing to people through ads …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And that tactic bombed bigtime for the antis, disproving the lie<\/a> that 90% support<\/a> prohibiting private transfers. \u00a0If the public really supported the “liberal daydream” then why didn’t they contact their representatives and demand action? \u00a0I covered that back in April<\/a>.<\/p>\n
