Nearly three weeks after sending out a press release<\/a>, one downstate media outlet finally picked up on the fact that SAFE is bad for New York businesses<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Gov. Cuomo\u2019s<\/a> tough new gun law has put a target on the state\u2019s gun makers. \u00a0Cities, counties and states from across the country have been making lucrative pitches to New York\u2019s firearms companies, urging them to relocate. Their argument: They have a gun-friendly atmosphere, and New York does not. \u00a0\u201cThey receive solicitations . . . on almost a daily basis,\u201d said Lawrence Kean, senior vice president and general counsel of the\u00a0National Shooting Sports Foundation<\/a>, a trade group. \u00a0\u201cCEOs have told me they could basically move their factories for free.\u201d … Tom King<\/a>, president of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association<\/a>, said New York\u2019s gun industry is teetering and any new laws, especially a bill favored by Cuomo and Mayor Bloomberg<\/a> to require the microstamping of all bullets, so the bullets could be traced to their original owners, could spell the end …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cuomo has been touting this “New York is Open for Business”<\/a><\/em> crap and it is high time the media start questioning him on that issue as well as guns.<\/p>\n
