Its passage lacked transparency and public input and its wording was ill-conceived and of questionable legality,\u201d said Senator Phil Boyle. \u00a0&#8220;Lawmakers like myself might have caught these mistakes if we were given more than two hours to read the bill. \u00a0A good leader admits a mistake and works to rectify it. \u00a0That is what I am doing.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Translation: my constituents are pissed and I&#8217;m trying to cover my ass with this bullshit statement.<\/p>\n<p>Next, freshman <a href=\"http:\/\/assembly.state.ny.us\/mem\/Bill-Nojay\/\" target=\"_blank\">Assemblyman Bill Nojay<\/a>\u00a0tells Fred Dicker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/p\/news\/local\/shel_court_favor_hVIeE7RFeeXcKaNg0rdXvJ\" target=\"_blank\">what he thinks of Dean Skelos<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230;\u00a0In a rare break with party unity, Nojay described <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/senator\/dean-g-skelos\/\" target=\"_blank\">Skelos<\/a> to The Post as \u201ca failed leader\u201d and declared, \u201cHe has to go.\u201d \u00a0\u201cDean Skelos has repeatedly failed to defend Republican values and assist his fellow Republicans running for office, whether it\u2019s his supporting a $2 billion tax hike, how he handled gay marriage, and now the gun issue,\u201d Nojay said &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now Dean Skelos <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.democratandchronicle.com\/voteup\/2013\/03\/04\/video-skelos-wants-changes-to-gun-control-law\/\" target=\"_blank\">comes out of hiding to issue a statement<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos said today that he expects significant changes to the gun-control law passed in January, specifically targeting the provision that lowers the number of bullets in a magazine from 10 to seven. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/assembly.state.ny.us\/mem\/Sheldon-Silver\" target=\"_blank\">Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Gov. Andrew Cuomo<\/a> has indicated that the law passed Jan. 15 might face just some minor changes.
