Cuomo&#8217;s speech yesterday<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some of the antigun stuff was a little vague.<\/li>\n<li>Nothing on microstamping. \u00a0He did say before that he did not think it would pass, but he essentially undercut a major antigun initiative by not mentioning it. \u00a0The gun ban stuff is old and could be seen as a tried and failed program. \u00a0Microstamping was being sold as new and exciting tech.<\/li>\n<li>He actually referred to the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sullivan_Act\" target=\"_blank\">Sullivan Act<\/a>\u00a0as a &#8220;model law.&#8221; \u00a0He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">has<\/span> to know it was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagarafallsreporter.com\/column357.html\" target=\"_blank\">written specifically<\/a>\u00a0to keep Italians like him from owning guns. \u00a0It is one thing to praise New York gun law and another to link it with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tammany_Hall\" target=\"_blank\">Tammany Hall<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>He cannot possibly believe other states will follow his lead.<\/li>\n<li>Was he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D5FzCeV0ZFc\" target=\"_blank\">channeling Howard Dean<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ag.ny.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Schneiderman&#8217;s<\/a> response is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ag.ny.gov\/press-release\/statement-ag-schneiderman-state-state-address-0\" target=\"_blank\">lame<\/a>. \u00a0He&#8217;s been very quiet as of late too.<\/li>\n<li>The legislators who <a href=\"\/files\/SLAIG-1-7-2013.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">signed a letter<\/a> to the Governor in support of more gun control has some interesting omissions. \u00a0That could just be personal issues among the legislators, though.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ssb_list_wrapper\"><li class=\"fb2\" style=\"width:135px\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gunpoliticsny.com%2F%3Fp%3D7243&amp;layout=button_count&amp;action=like&amp;show_faces=false&amp;share=true&amp;width=135&amp;height=21&amp;appId=307091639398582\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none; overflow:hidden;  width:150px; height:21px;\" allowTransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/li><li class=\"twtr\" style=\"width:90px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/share\" class=\"twitter-share-button\" data-url=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=7243\">&nbsp;<\/a><script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=\/^http:\/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+':\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document, 'script', 'twitter-wjs');<\/script><\/li><li class=\"gplus\" style=\"width:68px\"><div class=\"g-plusone\" data-size=\"medium\" data-href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=7243\"><\/div><\/li><li class=\"ssb_linkedin\" style=\"width:64px\"><script src=\"\/\/platform.linkedin.com\/in.js\" type=\"text\/javascript\">lang: en_US<\/script><script type=\"IN\/Share\" data-url=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=7243\" data-counter=\"right\"><\/script><\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some thoughts on Gov.
