{"id":7183,"date":"2013-01-01T18:47:57","date_gmt":"2013-01-01T23:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=7183"},"modified":"2013-01-01T18:47:57","modified_gmt":"2013-01-01T23:47:57","slug":"journal-news-hypocrisy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=7183","title":{"rendered":"Journal News hypocrisy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lohud.com\" target=\"_blank\">Journal News<\/a> has decided to hired armed guards in response to the negative pushback the paper has received for publishing the pistol license list w\/searchable map for Westchester and Rockland. \u00a0According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rocklandtimes.com\/2013\/01\/01\/the-journal-news-is-armed-and-dangerous\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rockland Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230;\u00a0According to police reports on public record, Journal News Rockland Editor Caryn A. McBride was alarmed by the volume of \u201cnegative correspondence,\u201d namely an avalanche of phone calls and emails to the Journal News office, following the newspaper\u2019s publishing of a map of all pistol permit holders in Rockland and Westchester. Due to apparent safety concerns, the newspaper then decided to hire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rgainvestigations.com\" target=\"_blank\">RGA Investigations<\/a> to provide armed personnel to man the location &#8230; McBride had filed at least two reports with the Clarkstown Police Department due to perceived threats. However, the police did not find the communications in question actually threatening &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In other words, guns are o.k. when used to protect elitist snobs at leftist rags like the Urinal News, but not ordinary citizens like those the paper decided to out.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Putnam Co. is refusing to give the paper their pistol license list:<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet tw-align-center\">\n<p>Proud to stand w Putnam Cnty Clerk, Dennis Sant.
