{"id":715,"date":"2010-01-26T14:35:36","date_gmt":"2010-01-26T19:35:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=715"},"modified":"2010-01-26T14:35:36","modified_gmt":"2010-01-26T19:35:36","slug":"pro-gun-purity-test-for-gop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=715","title":{"rendered":"Pro-gun purity test for GOP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At least some in the Republican Party have learned from <a href=\"http:\/\/content.usatoday.com\/communities\/onpolitics\/post\/2010\/01\/scott-browns-victory-ripples-across-the-usa\/1\" target=\"_blank\">Scott Brown&#8217;s upset win<\/a> in Massachusetts. \u00a0According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com\/2010\/01\/26\/after-browns-win-gop-officials-weigh-purity-test\/\" target=\"_blank\">Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;One of the top items of business for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gop.com\" target=\"_blank\">Republican National Committee<\/a> &#8230; is to pass a so-called \u201cpurity\u201d resolution being put forth by some of its more conservative members. The resolution, named after former <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ronaldreagan.com\" target=\"_blank\">President Reagan<\/a>, would require that Republican candidates agree on at least eight listed conservative positions \u2013 ranging from <strong>gun control<\/strong> to gay marriage to financing for abortion \u2013 or face a cut-off of party money and support &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Good.
