The Huffington Post reports<\/a> that Frank Lautenberg<\/a>\u00a0is refusing to pull his \u00a0his 10+ round magazine prohibition amendment<\/a> from the cybersecurity bill:<\/p>\n

“… Lautenberg said he has no intention of waiting to debate his proposal. \u00a0“I’m not prepared to do that,” Lautenberg told The Huffington Post. \u00a0“We want to connect safety with reality. And the reality is that we lose more people every year to gun murder than we do in the military … It is ridiculous.” \u00a0Lautenberg said his amendment “belongs in a security measure” like the cybersecurity bill and said he plans to keep pushing it until it gets heard on the Senate<\/a> floor …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I’m not buying it. \u00a0There aren’t the votes in either chamber to pass this and everybody knows it. \u00a0This is all an act. \u00a0Here what I think the script is going to be:<\/p>\n

  1. Egged on by the leftist media, Lautenberg,\u00a0McCarthy<\/a>, etc. keep mouthing off about gun control. \u00a0The general public shows no interest<\/a> in the issue.<\/li>\n
  2. Something else comes along (like the political conventions later this month), and the media loses interest.<\/li>\n
  3. Lautenberg\u00a0 pulls his amendment. \u00a0Politicians and leftist media outlets blame the NRA<\/a>, ignore the fact that they were the only ones pushing it<\/a> in the first place.<\/li>\n
  4. Antis try pressuring candidates<\/a>\u00a0up and down the ticket to support their issues. \u00a0An overwhelming majority blows them off<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  5. The antis further descend into madness<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
