Several antis in Albany are trying drum up support for their agenda, and microstamping in particular.<\/p>\n

First Michelle Schimel<\/a>, Brian Kavanagh<\/a> and Eric Adams<\/a> each sent out a press release<\/a> touting SLAIG, State Legislators Against Illegal Guns, which is modeled after MAIG<\/a>. \u00a0Next, according to the Daily News<\/a>, they’re going to “begin a \u201csustained\u201d push”<\/em> for microstamping in the State Senate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This appears to be nothing more than a PR campaign which has gotten some help from a couple of sympathetic newspapers. \u00a0I don’t see any new momentum behind \u00a0microstamping. \u00a0If anything, it has been becoming increasingly unpopular with legislators as evidenced by the decreasing number of votes in the Assembly<\/a> for it. \u00a0SLAIG itself is a farce and largely just a soapbox for Schimel.<\/p>\n
