Big media is trying to attack Michele Bachmann<\/a> on the issues, but inside this syndicated column<\/a> there is this useful tidbit:<\/p>\n

“… after a supporter asked her position on the Second Amendment<\/a>, Bachmann said she supported Americans\u2019 rights to own guns and that she had a permit to carry a concealed weapon …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So do millions of other Americans. \u00a0It’s a mainstream position largely unknown to the editors of rags like the LA Times and Boston Herald. \u00a0So they try and marginalize her with this:<\/p>\n

“… then she added: “I don\u2019t believe in the U.N.<\/a> taking that right away from us, as well. There are international treaties that want to do that.” \u00a0The United Nations is drafting an arms treaty, but it is aimed at stemming illegal international gun sales. While many gun manufacturers are concerned that such a treaty could lead to broader gun registration, only a narrow fringe purports that Americans could see their guns taken away by the U.N., which has no authority over constitutional rights …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

By “narrow fringe” they mean the NRA<\/a> which has covered this topic extensively and Wayne LaPierre even wrote a book about, “The Global War on Your Guns: Inside the UN Plan To Destroy the Bill of Rights<\/a>\"\".” \u00a0This lame shot won’t hurt her campaign at all. \u00a0In fact, this Rasmussen poll last month<\/a> shows more Americans think being labeled “Pro-Gun” is a positive rather than a negative. \u00a0This explains why none of the candidates, including Obama<\/a>, are rushing to the Brady Campaign<\/a> for their endorsement.<\/p>\n
