{"id":466,"date":"2009-12-03T20:29:59","date_gmt":"2009-12-04T01:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=466"},"modified":"2009-12-03T20:29:59","modified_gmt":"2009-12-04T01:29:59","slug":"bishop-showing-some-weakness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=466","title":{"rendered":"Bishop showing some weakness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/timbishop.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Rep.\u00a0Tim Bishop<\/a> is showing some weakness in the latest poll according to <a href=\"http:\/\/hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com\/archives\/2009\/12\/gop_poll_shows.php\" target=\"_blank\">Hotline On Call<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mclaughlinonline.com\" target=\"_blank\">McLaughlin &amp; Assoc.<\/a> (R) poll, taken for businessman <a href=\"http:\/\/www.randyaltschuler.com\" target=\"_blank\">Randy Altschuler (R)<\/a>, shows Bishop leading by a wide 46% to 26% margin. It&#8217;s a big gap, but the fact that a 4-term incumbent who won in &#8217;08 with 58% is polling below 50% could be an indication of trouble ahead. Altschuler is barely known in the district, and if allowed to define himself, he has nowhere to go but up &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The poll uses a small sample, but I think there&#8217;s going to be a big <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\">Obama<\/a> backlash next year.
