There’s a good article (with an excellent headline) over at WNYC on why George Pataki<\/a> will not be running for president, “\u201cI really don\u2019t know what he\u2019s smoking\u201d: Pataki presidential run rumors don\u2019t add up<\/a>.” \u00a0Some quotes:<\/p>\n

“… to think, with his values, he would stand a chance in a Republican\u2014in a right-wing Republican\u2014primary, that is really ludicrous …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“… Having to come to term with the labor unions, his spending record, his record on social issues, suggest it would be very hard to get nominated …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“… I don\u2019t remember anyone saying, \u2018Pataki, remember the good old days?\u2019\u201d …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Contrast that with this nonsense from Fred Dicker, “GOP big pushes Giuliani for vice prez<\/a>“. \u00a0Now go back to the first article and re-read it substituting “Rudy Giuliani” for “George Pataki” and see what you get. \u00a0Same article, right?<\/p>\n
