The 3-way race in CD-26 is heating up with Assemblywoman Jane Corwin<\/a> holding a slight lead<\/a> over Erie Co. Clerk Kathy Hochul<\/a> and businessman Jack Davis<\/a>. \u00a0With the election next week, NRCC<\/a>, DCCC<\/a> and outside groups<\/a> are now getting involved.<\/p>\n

Despite NRA’s endorsement of Corwin<\/a>, guns have not been a campaign issue. \u00a0Now with the GOP looking worried<\/a>, Cowin’s campaign tried to raise the issue. \u00a0From today’s Buffalo News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“… The Corwin campaign claims Davis also told WBEN<\/a> in 2005 that he supports gun control when asked about an assault weapons ban. \u00a0 But this year, in an earlier interview Davis granted to The News, he pointed to his life membership in the National Rifle Association<\/a> and proudly displayed a gun collection that includes an Uzi, an M-16 and a Thompson submachine gun. \u00a0\u201cTrust us with everything. We have that right as Americans,\u201d he said. \u00a0\u201cI say: don\u2019t mess with my stuff. \u00a0It shall not be infringed.\u201d …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
