{"id":3587,"date":"2011-03-10T17:13:49","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T22:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=3587"},"modified":"2011-03-10T17:14:44","modified_gmt":"2011-03-10T22:14:44","slug":"show-me-the-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=3587","title":{"rendered":"Show me the money"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two more state legislators are in trouble on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitaltonight.com\/2011\/03\/krugerboyland-criminal-complaint\/\" target=\"_blank\">corruption charges<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/senator\/carl-kruger\" target=\"_blank\">Senator Carl Kruger<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.assembly.state.ny.us\/mem\/William-F-Boyland-Jr\" target=\"_blank\">Assemblyman William Boyland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Given the seeming regularity in which our elected officials disgrace themselves these revelations should come as no surprise. \u00a0What I did find amusing was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/blogs\/dailypolitics\/2011\/03\/nypirg-follows-the-money-major-wrinkle-in-carl-krugers-donation-reports-update\" target=\"_blank\">this<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypirg.org\" target=\"_blank\">NYPIRG&#8217;s<\/a> Bill Mahoney put together a list &#8230; of those who have benefitted from <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052748703453804576191350882133850.html\" target=\"_blank\">under-fire<\/a> state Sen. Carl Kruger&#8217;s political generosity &#8230; I got a call (and perhaps others did, too) from the office of state <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/senator\/jose-peralta\" target=\"_blank\">Sen. Jose Peralta<\/a> of Queens, insisting that he never got any KrugerBucks. \u00a0HOWEVER, Kruger reported giving Peralta a donation. \u00a0Peralta&#8217;s committee never reported receiving it.
