{"id":346,"date":"2009-10-20T11:49:50","date_gmt":"2009-10-20T15:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=346"},"modified":"2009-10-20T11:49:50","modified_gmt":"2009-10-20T15:49:50","slug":"can-you-hear-me-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=346","title":{"rendered":"Can you hear me now?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nobody in Congress is paying much attention to the antis right now, which of course, makes single issue legislators like <a href=\"http:\/\/carolynmccarthy.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Carolyn McCarthy<\/a> unhappy because they&#8217;ve got nothing else to talk about. \u00a0She&#8217;s like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.verizon.com\" target=\"_blank\">Verizon<\/a> guy, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/money\/advertising\/adtrack\/2004-02-22-track-verizon_x.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Can you hear me now?<\/em><\/a>, except the answer is always No.<\/p>\n<p>From her latest <a href=\"http:\/\/carolynmccarthy.house.gov\/index.cfm?sectionid=155&amp;sectiontree=189,155&amp;itemid=1235\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Reps. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.castle.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Castle (R-DE)<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/carolynmccarthy.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY)<\/a>, House architects of the Gun Show Loophole Closing Act (<a href=\"http:\/\/thomas.loc.gov\" target=\"_blank\">HR 2324<\/a>), today praised Mayor Bloomberg&#8217;s <a href=\"www.nyc.gov\/gunshow\" target=\"_blank\">undercover investigation<\/a> by the City of New York of illegal sales of firearms at gun shows in three states, and the report&#8217;s recommendation for closing the gun show loophole.  Reps.
