The antigunners are celebrating, yes celebrating<\/span>, over the attempted assassination<\/a> of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords<\/a>. \u00a0Antis have never been known for their tact, but they’ve really gone overboard this time. \u00a0This is probably due to the long losing streak that they have been on, both in Congress and the courts. \u00a0Nobody has been paying them much attention. \u00a0The Brady’s<\/a> have already sent out a fundraiser letter trying to make money off of it. \u00a0CSGV<\/a> asserts on their Twitter feed<\/a> the NRA<\/a> and Antonin Scalia<\/a> promote “insurrectionism” via the 2nd Amendment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course, some local politicians have to make noise. \u00a0Carolyn McCarthy<\/a> intends to reintroduce her bill<\/a> to reinstate and expand the old Clinton AWB<\/a> while Mayor Bloomberg<\/a> pledged to continue his efforts<\/a> (and hopefully divert attention away from his other problems<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Ultimately, I don’t see the antis getting any traction on their issues. \u00a0The public doesn’t want it, the political support isn’t there and there is widespread alternative media to counter the PSH from lamestream outlets<\/a> which was not there 10-15 years ago. \u00a0All their antics are going to do is further marginalize the already fringe antigun movement.<\/p>\n
