James"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A coalition consisting of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firearmspolicy.org\/fpc-sues-new-york-to-take-down-gov-hochuls-new-glock-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FPC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/saf.org\/saf-files-lawsuit-challenging-new-york-glock-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SAF<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20260814\/nra-files-lawsuit-challenging-new-york-s-glock-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NRA<\/a> have filed a lawsuit challenging the gun control provisions enacted in this year&#8217;s state budget bill <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2025\/A10005\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A-10005C<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2025\/S9005\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S-9005C<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and its partners have filed a lawsuit in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nywd.uscourts.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York<\/a> challenging New York law that bars the sale and transfer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glock.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glock<\/a> and Glock-style handguns. The updated law states that \u201c\u2026any dealer in firearms or gunsmith who\u2026sells, transfers, disposes of, or transports or ships as merchandise a convertible pistol shall be guilty of a class D felony.\u201d The law further states that the <a href=\"https:\/\/troopers.ny.gov\/new-york-state-police-superintendents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Superintendent of the New York State Police<\/a> is required to produce an annual list of machinegun convertible pistols. Anyone found in violation of the law on or after May 31, 2027, is subject to punishment of up to seven years in prison and a fine of $5,000 or more &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The case is <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacermonitor.com\/public\/case\/66240611\/The_Firing_Pin%2C_LLC_et_al_v_James_et_al\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Firing Pin v. James<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It will takes years to work it&#8217;s way through the courts. I suspect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOTUS<\/a> will rule in our favor in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/08\/05\/legal-specialists-preview-upcoming-scotus-cases-on-assault-weapons-bans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">next term&#8217;s AWB case<\/a> and that decision will ultimately be helpful with this suit.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ssb_list_wrapper\"><li class=\"fb2\" style=\"width:135px\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gunpoliticsny.com%2F%3Fp%3D30292&amp;layout=button_count&amp;action=like&amp;show_faces=false&amp;share=true&amp;width=135&amp;height=21&amp;appId=307091639398582\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;
