The ATF<\/a> is proposal a new rule change<\/a> allowing guns to be shipped directly to buyers:<\/p>\n

“… Under current rules, people who buy guns online have to pick them up at physical stores and submit to in-person background checks if they don\u2019t already have a permit. The new rule would allow licensed firearms dealers to ship guns directly to in-state residents after online identity verification and a background check. There would also be a seven-day waiting period and local law enforcement would have to be notified of the purchase …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So basically just eliminating the final step of going back to the store to pick it up. They can just mail it to you.<\/p>\n

We can’t have any of that going on<\/a> it New York:<\/p>\n

“… In response to the ATF\u2019s plan, Hochul<\/a> says she intends to introduce a law requiring the final sale to be done in person, continuing the process of buying a gun online, before picking it up from an FFL<\/a> …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pre-filed bills for the 2027-28 session should start appearing around Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n
